When Gustav Holst wrote his famous score he intended the music to be "a series of mood pictures" describing the characters and astrologies of the Roman gods. With this film James Templeton provides synchronized visuals that honors the composer's original intent. "The Planets" is a gorgeous and richly nuanced study of each of the seven gods. The film is full of dramatic imagery that dances very effectively with the score. Plus, your audiences will love discovering the many hidden and not-so-hidden symbols and iconic references sprinkled throughout each movement.
