Description
2023 is the 125th anniversary of this film! Add a bit of film history to your program. James Syler's band score is paired with a historic film by the early French film maker Georges Méliès. "Haunted Castle" (1896) is famously known as the world's very first horror movie. It may not cause goosebumps for modern audiences, but it must have been extremely eerie to 1896 viewers. Méliès is known as the grandfather of film special effects and many of his novel techniques are on display in the film. The film is shown in its entirety with no cuts or edits. NOTE: The film quality is rather poor, but considering its age (125 years!) we think it is still worth sharing.
