This is a powerful film produced by the students of ESMA in Montpellier, France with an equally powerful score by Romain Paillot. The film is set in the imagination of two young boys as they experience the horrors of the 1944 Normandy Invasion through war letters found in their grandparents’ attic. Each of the soldiers in the battle are brought to life through the letters they wrote. As the film progresses the two boys are surrounded by fallen soldiers and their letters home. In the midst of the chaos they find a familiar face and just as their imagination becomes overwhelmed the two boys are brought back to reality by their grandparents who place the letters back in the attic trunk and lead the boys away.
The film can be performed with live chorus, with digital chorus files provided by Ion, or as an orchestra alone performance.
