In 1920 Robert Weine released his German Expressionist masterwork, “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.” In the film Condensed Caligari Ion Concert Media has paired scenes from the original film with the first two movements of Bruch’s Violin Concerto #1. Stylistically the two works pair very well and the 17 minute edit includes all the major plot points of the original. Condensed Caligari is an excellent way to give your audience an abbreviated performance of one of the most significant works of the silent film era.
