Description

In Slavic folklore, Baba-Yaga is a ferocious looking woman who flies around in a mortar, armed with a pestle, and dwells in a hut that stands on chicken’s legs! In 1902, the famous Russian artist Ivan Bilibin created illustrations for the tale that provide the source material for this film. Ion’s Scott Winters adds drama and excitement by animating the artwork to reinforce the rhythmic energy of Liadov’s score.
